As some of you may have heard, there has been an unfortunate situation concerning our local children's travel club that intended to visit Washington D.C. this summer.  For the past year children, families, and community members have been fundraising and making payments in anticipation of a once in a lifetime opportunity for our children to experience our nations rich history first hand.  To everyone's shock and disbelief, the trip coordinator failed to secure the trip.  To worsen the situation, we have also learned that all payments and fundraised monies are unaccounted for.  We understand that we have little control over this piece of the puzzle.  However, we refuse to simply sit and wait as this runs its course.  Our children have worked hard and are deserving of this opportunity.  In an effort to get these kids to D.C., we have partnered with Wells Fargo to establish a secure account that will manage all donations and payments.  We have created a website that will help notify our community about fundraising activities and keep you informed of our progress.  There has been a tremendous amount of learning from this experience.  We have created many safeguards to ensure that the new process is secure, transparent, and succesful.

Again, we would like to thank everyone for their support as we try to take this negative and turn it into a postive situation for our children, families, and community.
